Chambers Creek Regional Park

A group of concerned residents established the Chambers Creek Foundation in 1999. They worked with Pierce County to reclaim what today is known as Chambers Creek Properties, which at the time was a 930-acre former gravel pit. Today, the group works to raise money to fulfill the county's master plan for the properties, which would have taken up to 50 years otherwise. So far, the foundation has raised money to help pay for the site's trails, water fountains and memorial benches. The foundation's office is located in the county's Environmental Sciences Building.

Edgewater Park

Edgewater Park is located on the northeastern coast of Steilacoom Lake. When pulling up the park, you wouldn't even know that it is there as it's a thin strip of coastal land with a public boat launch right off Edgewater Drive SW. Parking is very minimal at best and may be tough to find. The waterfront park does offer a nice groomed grass area for a picnic and dipping into the lake. There is a rope swing on site and geese and ducks litter the boat launch area.
