History
Dejan Jovanovic has been an artist for more than 20 years. He has been established in Washington, DC since 2002, where Dejan Studio began. Since early on, Dejan was fascinated by creating shapes and had the freedom to enjoy creating in his father's studio, who was a sculptor. He went on to train as a sculptor at Belgrade University School of Applied Arts in Serbia, where he focused on the challenges of creating large-scale sculptures and graduated top of his class with honors. He later graduated with his MFA in metal design from East Carolina University School of Art and Design in NC. In Washington DC where space is more limited, Dejan started designing wearable sculptures with a special focus on limited edition pieces and custom designed rings. His work has been featured in publications including Martha Stewart Weddings, Washingtonian Magazine, and DC Modern Luxury. His passion for creating has won him international prizes and awards and set him on the path to where he is today.
