The Coastal Water Authority (CWA) is a conservation and reclamation district established in 1967 by a Special Act of the 60th Legislature of Texas. Serving the cities of Houston, Baytown, and Deer Park, CWA supplies untreated surface water for municipal use, as well as to around 100 industries and a handful of agricultural customers.
Under the governance of a 7-member Board of Directors, with 4 members appointed by Houston's Mayor and 3 by the Governor of Texas, CWA plays a crucial role in providing essential water resources to support various sectors within the region.
