The Coastal Water Authority (CWA) is a conservation and reclamation district established in 1967 by a Special Act of the 60th Legislature of the State of Texas. Serving the cities of Houston, Baytown, and Deer Park, CWA supplies untreated surface water for municipal use, as well as to around 100 industries and a few agricultural customers.
Governed by a 7-member Board of Directors, CWA's leadership includes 4 members appointed by Houston's Mayor and 3 appointed by the Governor of Texas, ensuring effective management and oversight of water distribution and conservation efforts.
