The Zoning Department is responsible for administers permits for residential additions and interior and exterior alterations. It works to issue occupancy permits for new homes, commercial structures, real estate transactions, apartments. The department is also responsible for issuing documents for the change of commercial tenants and home-based businesses. The Zoning Department is governed by Lower Saucon Township in Pennsylvania, which has a finance, fire, planning, public works, and parks and recreation departments. Its police department works with a team of more than 30 employees, as well as is responsible for protecting and serving over 9,800 citizens living in nearly 25 square mile area.
