Founded in 1977, Bend Metro Park & Recreation is a nonprofit organization that provides a variety of recreational services. It offers more than 500 recreational programs annually for all ages, including children and seniors. It offers traditional sports, such as baseball, volleyball, softball, basketball, tennis, flag and tackle football, and soccer. For adults it provides outdoor summer programs that include hiking, cycling, kayaking, canoeing, rafting and trips around the state. It rates and fee are based on the facility, the size of the group, park amenities, the duration of stay and other special needs. The organization maintains and operates more than 2,000-acres of developed and undeveloped parkland, including 71 parks, open spaces, such as neighborhood, riverfront, community, sports and regional parks, and 48-miles of nature trail.
