History

Established in 2001 in Ashland Oregon. The school moved to Medford Oregon and the Phoenix Oregon. In 2007 a second school was established in Portland Oregon and now operates in Beaverton Oregon. Both branshes of the school remain in operation serving both ends of the state of Oregon.

Specialties

Academia Duellatoria is a full service martial arts school teaching Historical European Fencing (HEMA) / Western Martial Arts (WMA) / and empty hand Martial Arts systems. Subject matters include Bartitsu, grappling, dagger work, medieval sword and buckler, Italian, Dutch and Spanish rapier fencing, Italian Longsword and polearms, and English and US Military Saber. In addition to these physical pursuits we try to include a relevancy to modern unarmed self defence applications. We also now offer a twice weekly karate class. Additionally, we offer historical presentations and lectures, combat demonstrations, private lessons, consultation, fight choreography, and stunt work by special arrangement. The school also maintains a full research library on Historical European Martial systems. Don't forget our exciting educational day camps for your kids. Academia Duellatoria is affiliated with the Association For Historical Fencing and with the American Karate Academies National Association.
