The Division of Water Treatment is a part of the city of Toledo, Ohio. The division handles cases related to the production, filtration and quality control of water. It filters more than 80 million gallons water per day. The division maintains a quality control laboratory that conducts analysis on raw and treated water. The Division of Water Treatment maintains microbiology, water quality and research laboratories, which are certified by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency. The division employs a staff of engineers, chemists, licensed water operators and electricians. The Division of Water Treatment is operated by the Department of Public Utilities, which also maintains engineering, sewer and drainage, and water treatment and reclamation services divisions.
