The Ohio Department of Mental Health, also known as ODMH, is a part of the state government of Ohio. The department has served more than 300,000 individuals with mental disorders. It works in collaboration with community mental health agencies, residential facilities and in-patient hospital units. The Ohio Department of Mental Health offers emergency preparedness services. The department also administers suicide prevention programs. It provides supported employment and wellness management and recovery services through Coordinating Centers of Excellence. The Ohio Department of Mental Health additionally performs research activities. The department operates Appalachian Behavioral Healthcare, which is accredited by The Joint Commission.
