The Enderlin Historical Society and Museum, Inc. is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and sharing the rich history of the Enderlin area in North Dakota. With a focus on artifacts, oral histories, and genealogy, the museum houses a diverse collection that includes historic local photos, athletic trophies, school yearbooks dating back to 1906, early family histories, and Enderlin area memorabilia. Through fundraising efforts and the implementation of professional standards, the museum strives to provide high-quality preservation, engaging exhibits, and educational programs for visitors.
Established in 1967, the Enderlin Historical Society and Museum has undergone several location changes in its quest for a permanent home. After acquiring the Fingal depot in 1971, which was later sold due to vandalism, the society purchased the Masonic Temple building in 1990 and converted it into a museum. In 2008, the society became the proud owners of the land and building. With a focus on planning for the future, the museum has established an Endowment Fund through the North Dakota Community Foundation to ensure its continued success and provide a permanent source of income. The recent addition of a modern, handicap accessible restroom further enhances the visitor experience.
