Vanderbilt Lakeside provides thoughtfully curated private stays and events. A welcoming gathering space for group getaways, retreats, and celebrations of all sizes—from intimate dinner parties, to larger scale affairs, and bespoke weddings. Overlooking a 20-acre lake in the Village of Philmont, just outside of Hudson, NY, the historic 1860s house feels unexpectedly secluded. Originally a railroad hotel built by Cornelius Vanderbilt in the 1860s, the space has been reimagined, marrying the formal elegance of a Victorian home with the laid back, rustic feel of a lake house. Wainscoting, tall tin ceilings, tons of natural light, wood beams, and vintage-inspired wallpaper surround an eclectic blend of furnishings, green plants, books, games, and unique objects. Features include an oversized outdoor dining and lounging deck, an expansive private yard with over 500 feet of lake frontage, eight en suite light-filled bedrooms, and multiple, large and warm communal spaces. Custom food and bar packages are available for all bookings with in-house chef service, bar and waitstaff.
