When the Siwanoy School could no longer accommodate the area's grammar and secondary school students, the Pelham Memorial High School opened it doors to grades nine through 12 in 1922.
Students here engage in a rigorous academic program and have achieved numerous national awards that speak to the curriculum's standards. In the last two years, PMHS nabbed 24 Latin National Exam Awards, High School Women's Art Exhibit Award--Best in Show and the Columbia Scholastic Press Association Gold Medal Yearbook award, among many other noteworthy achievements.
PMHS offers more than 110 courses, which includes four foreign languages (French, Italian, Spanish and Latin) and students can take their studies outside of the classroom and into the numerous specialized labs: The Bio-Tech Lab, Foreign Language Media Lab, Broadcast Media Studio, and Macintosh Lab.
Students seeking one-on-one guidance can head to the tutoring center, writing mentor program and counseling services.
