Build For LIFE is a division of the New York Says Thank You Foundation, a nationally recognized 501c3 disaster relief organization. Since its establishment in 2007 following Hurricane Katrina, Build For LIFE has been dedicated to rebuilding the homes of disaster victims struggling with cancer and empowering cancer survivors, their friends, and families to volunteer on these rebuilding projects. With the expansion of its mission after Hurricane Sandy, Build For LIFE now also supports disaster survivors battling life-threatening diseases such as Leukemia and HIV AIDS, while encouraging these survivor communities to volunteer and assist others in similar situations.
Originally known as Bonita's Wish, Build For LIFE operates as a charitable organization under section 501c3 of the Internal Revenue code, making donations tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Through their Hurricane Sandy GoFundMe Challenge, Build For LIFE aims to rebuild the homes of cancer patients, individuals fighting leukemia, and those living with HIV AIDS in the New York New Jersey metropolitan area. To further support their cause, individuals can submit applications for disaster assistance or volunteer with their Hurricane Sandy Rebuilding Projects.
