Founded in 1972, the New York Council on Adoptable Children is a foster care and children adoption agency. Since its inception, the organization has been involved with more than 7,500 prospective adoptive families and placed over 2,000 children through its African-American and Hispanic child adoption programs. As a nonprofit organization, the New York Council on Adoptable Children offers residential, medical and educational services for children orphaned by AIDS. It provides parenting classes, as well as offers placement for older, emotionally and medically fragile and children with special needs. The organization additionally offers crisis intervention and individual and group counseling services for adoptive parents and children. The New York Council on Adoptable Children is located in New York City.
