Established in 1972, CNY Centro provides public bus service for Syracuse and Onondaga Counties in New York. The company is located in Syracuse, N.Y., and is a part of the Central New York Regional Transportation Authority, also known as CNYRTA. The Central New York Regional Transportation Authority was established in 1970 and has a work force of more than 600 employees. The authority maintains a fleet of over 250 vehicles. The Central New York Regional Transportation Authority serves approximately 12 million passengers annually. It receives financial assistance from local, federal and state government agencies. The authority operates several subsidiaries, such as Centro of Cayuga, Centro of Oswego, Centro of Oneida, Call-A-Bus Paratransit Services and Centro Parking.
