In existence since 1915, the Bedford Hills Free Library first opened in two rooms above a shoe store in the hamlet. Thirty-seven years later, in 1952, it moved to its present home, a 140-year-old building on Main Street. The Bedford Hills Free Library offers a wide variety of programs, events and services for its residents, including book groups and story time. Story Time hours are Tuesday at 4pm for ages three and four, Wednesday at 10:30am for ages 18 months to 3 years and 4:30pm for children in grades K through two and Fridays at 4:15pm for grades three through five. Book group for middle school students, led by author Lena Roy, are held on the second Wednesday of the month from 7pm to 8pm. Book group for high school students, led by Bobbi Bittker, are held on the first Wednesday of the month from 7pm to 8pm.
