The 106th Rescue Wing is a New York Air National Guard unit located in Westhampton Beach. The unit operates and maintains the only rescue aircraft in the Northeastern United States designed for aerial refueling, the HC-130P, also known as "Hercules." The HC-130P, with a six-member crew, is configured for both air-to-air refuel and search duties, and is often used for over-water search and rescue missions. The unit also operates the Sikorski HH-60 "Pave Hawk" for search and rescue.
