The Southington Readiness Center is one of nearly 20 active armory's within the state, and is used as a preparation and training center as well as the local recruiting and OMS for the Connecticut Army National Guard. First opened in 1976, the building underwent renovations during the mid 2000s and was rededicated in 2007 after completion of a $5 million upgrade project. The center is home to the F Company, 186th Brigade Support Battalion and includes an assembly hall, offices, kitchen area, locker rooms, classrooms, exercise room, storage areas and more.
