According to the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Wentzville had nearly 12,000 students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade in 2009. The district has a graduation rate of 87 percent, which is 2.9 percent above the state average.
Superintendent Dr. Terry Adams said, "the Wentzville R-IV School District always strives to put students first. That's one of the reasons for the district's great reputation, and also one of the reasons that Wentzville has been the fastest growing school districts in the state over the past decade. In a recent poll conducted by the city of Wentzville, the quality of our schools was the number one reason that residents stated they chose to live here. The district has been recognized with "Distinction in Performance" by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for the past five years. The district is financially responsible, and spends less per student than any other school district in the county. Our students achieve at a very high level, and Wentzville's MAP scores are in the top 10 percent of all districts in the state. That means that students and families in the WSD get more educational "bang for their buck."
