Solid Rock Ministries began in a storefront on South Broadway Boulevard in south St. Louis in 1957 under the name Southside Pentecostal Church. The congregation outgrew a building it subsequently purchased, and when it burned down in 1980 the church was without a home.
The congregation worshipped in several facilities in Fenton until a new church was build on a 5.5-acre tract on Gravois and Summit roads in Nov. 1997.
The highly visible brick and stone church seats 550 people for services and includes a fellowship hall, educational facilities and offices.
