The Monarch Fire Protection District provides fire and EMS services to various parts of Chesterfield, Ballwin, Clarkson Valley, Creve Coeur, Maryland Heights, Wildwood and unincorporated St. Louis County.
The district traces its roots to the Chesterfield Fire Protection District, which was founded in 1957. At that time, the district had two engine houses and about 12 volunteers.
Renamed Monarch Fire Protection District in 2003, the district now employs about 125 people and features five fire houses.
The administration building, located at 13725 Olive Boulevard, is where the district's Board of Directors regularly meets.
