The Midwest Dairy Association, also known as MDA, is a nonprofit organization that implements a range of programs to help increase sales and demand for dairy products and ingredients. It works to improve the economic well being of the Midwest s dairy producers. Established in 1971, it serves consumers, teachers, dairy farmers, and food service and health professionals in Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Oklahoma. The Midwest Dairy Association collaborates with several companies, including McDonald's, Dominos, Burger King, Sonic, Starbucks and Kroger to implement its programs. It also operates a nutrition marketing division, the Midwest Dairy Council, which works with teachers, school nutrition departments and community leaders to develop effective dairy nutrition education programs. Headquartered in Ankeny, Iowa, the Midwest Dairy Association maintains a location in St. Paul, Minn.
