Founded in 1919, International Institute of Minnesota is a social service agency affiliated with the United Way and the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants. Located in St. Paul, Minn., the institute addresses the needs of immigrant women and their families. It also assists U.S. citizens in transition to a new homeland by providing critical programs and services for integration into a new community. Through its refugee resettlement division, the agency applies for social security cards and selective services.
