History
The A.C. Lewis YMCA is a mid-city branch that opened in 1963. Over the years this Y has undergone three renovations and now totals over 60,000 square feet.

The Y is a nonprofit, community service organization with a focus on strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Y nurtures the potential of every youth and teen, improves the nations health and well-being and provides opportunities to give back and support neighbors. The Y also makes sure that everyone, regardless of age, income, religion or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. YMCA Baton Rouge operates 9 facilities in the Capital Area, including Addis.
