Since 1836, Kentucky Historical Society has been preserving the history of the commonwealth. Based in Frankfort, Ky., the society collects, preserves, conserves, interprets and shares information, memories and materials from Kentucky's past to assist those interested in exploring and preserving that heritage. It also supports and provides educational services to its 3,300 members. Kentucky Historical Society is an agency of the Kentucky Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet. Its history campus includes the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History and Old State Capitol.
