The Department Of Human Services operates under the government of the state of Hawaii. It administers a variety of programs to promote the independence, health, personal dignity and self-sufficiency of residents. The Department Of Human Services maintains a fatherhood commission that promotes healthy relationships between parents and children. Additionally, the department s benefit, employment and support services division offers services in the areas of investigations, staff development, and financial and food stamps assistance.
