This preschool is named after just who you think it is. Unofficially, that is. When owner Mrs. Davis, a woman with 20 years experience in running daycare centers, submitted the necessary paperwork to certify this colorfully decorated stucco building as her newest daycare, she received a sternly worded letter that the name would need to be cleared by officials in Washington, D.C. Mrs. Davis resubmitted the paperwork with the notation that OBAMA was an acronym for Only the Best Accepted At My Academy, and the Obama Preschool was opened.
Its motto is "Changing the Way We Do School by Trusting Children to Succeed." There are 60 students enrolled in this building. This does not include the aftercare children who arrive after the nearby elementary schools close for the day. The preschool participates in programs designed to provide financial assistance to families in need of daycare services.
