Founded in 1977, Frontier Log Homes is a locally owned and operated business in western Colorado. Its log packages are constructed at its facility in Montrose, Colo. The company utilizes full round logs that are hand peeled using drawknives, and round notches are scribed and cut by hand using a hammer, chisel and chainsaw. It constructs fully handcrafted homes. Frontier Log Homes also offers hand-hewn logs, dovetail notches and log roof systems integrated into conventional constructed walls. Frontier Log Homes has a staff that includes carpenters, designers and office employees. Its log kit includes exterior and interior log walls floor joists, as well as supporting roof logs.
