Founded in 1993 as the Tibet Child Nutrition Project, the Terma Foundation works to improve health and education in Tibet by operating programs operate out of two sanatariums in the country.
The education program aims to pass on healthy habits to Tibetans through nutrition. Workers for the Terma Foundation (who are Tibetan) promote the mixing a root called Dhroma into food to compensate for the poor quality of available food.
The health program consists of improving access to treatment by a medical doctor. Each sanatarium has a medical doctor working on-site.
