The Mono County Office of Emergency Services division is a part of the Governor's Office of Homeland Security, which is governed by the state of California. The Governor's Office of Homeland Security, also known as OHS, acts as the cabinet-level state office for the prevention of and preparation for potential terrorist events. It serves a set of federal, state, local, private sector and tribal entities to reduce risk and increase responder capabilities. The office offers all-hazards strategy to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from various emergencies. The Governor's Office of Homeland Security is responsible for the analysis and dissemination of threat-related information and the protection of California's critical infrastructure. It also manages the management of the state's homeland security grants.
