The City of Dixon Fire Department is entrusted with keeping the city and surrounding parts of Dixon safe from fires and other calamities.
From its headquarters along Ford Way, the department is comprised of 18 full-time firefighters, three officers (a fire chief and two assistant chiefs), two office support staff members and two dozen volunteers. The department has mutual aid agreements with the cities of Vacaville and Davis and also receives assistance from CalFire.
Three engines, one ladder truck and one water tender assist the department in keeping the city fire safe. The department is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and covers a city area of 7.4 square miles and a district of 312.6 square miles.
Crews work a 48/96 hour rotation schedule.
