The City of Davis Fire Department provides prehospital emergency medical services and minimizes loss from fires, hazardous material incidents and natural disasters, as well as offers other emergency services. Located in Davis, Calif., it ensures the effective and efficient management of the community's emergency service resources. The fire department coordinates citywide planning for large scale disasters and emergency incidents. The City of Davis Fire Department is staffed by 45 shift personnel that include captains, firefighters, chiefs and administrative members. Its equipment consists of engines, rescue squads, grass and wildland units, water tenders, reserve engines and fire apparatus. The department has an automatic aid agreement with the University of California at Davis and the cities of Woodland, West Sacramento and Dixon, as well as a mutual aid agreement with other fire protection agencies in Yolo County and in the state of California.
