The Coronado School of the Arts (CoSA) is a high school for the performing and creative arts. It's a "school within a school" located on the campus of Coronado High School. The program offers students with passion and talent an opportunity to hone their skills further through an intensive arts curriculum, which adds an extra two hours of classes to their daily academic schedule. The conservatory-style instruction includes: instrumental music, musical theater/drama, technical theater, classical and contemporary dance and visual art. CoSA also has a Digital Media and Filmmaking Department. In addition to their coursework, students perform in various concerts, productions and exhibitions throughout the year. As a result of its success, California has recognized CoSA as a demonstration site for the state.
Admission is open to students throughout San Diego County, and admission is granted by application and/or recommendation only.
