The City of Davis, located next to the buildings containing the offices for the County of Yolo, is the municipal government of Davis, overseeing almost everything residential and commercial in Davis; the University of California is not within its jurisdiction, therefore it does not have much influence over University matters, and freshman who are staying on campus are not allowed to vote in city elections.
