The City of Davis, located next to the buildings containing the offices for the County of Yolo, is the municipal government of Davis, overseeing almost everything residential and commercial in Davis; the University of California is not within its jurisdiction, therefore it does not have much influence over University matters, and freshman who are staying on campus are not allowed to vote in city elections. The city officials are made up of the City Council (five members including the mayor), the City Manager, City Clerk and City Attorney; all of their offices are found at this location. The location itself is large and sprawling, well appointed and beautiful, with large trees and old vines everywhere. It is easy to get lost in the structure; there is a visitor's guide near the center of the property. The grounds even have a bbq and picnic area that is open to the public. Make sure to visit the website for all the details on the role that the City of Davis plays.
