Though the most recent iteration of Alhambra High School opened its doors in 1994, the original school was first constructed in 1903, and the first graduating class consisted of three students. Alhambra High, home of the Bulldogs, is located in the Franklin Hills, and is designed in a Roman-Greco architectural style. There are 1,253 students and 59 teachers. The community is very involved with the school – bonds for the new school, new athletic fields and the performing arts center were overwhelmingly approved, and the bleachers at athletic events are often full.
The school boasts a variety of Advanced Placement and Honors classes, and extensive Regional Occupation Program courses. The school arts program includes band, drama and orchestra. There are a total of 33 sports teams at the school.
