Founded in 1988, PROTOTYPES' Women's Center provides residential and day treatment and outpatient services for women and their children. It is seen as a national model for the treatment of drug abusing women and their children who are also at risk for co-occurring disorders, such as mental illness, HIV/AIDS and trauma. Located in Pomona, Calif., PROTOTYPES' Women's Center is a part of PROTOTYPES, which is one of the leading multiservice, nonprofit agencies that helps women and their families dealing with complex problems, such as substance abuse, mental illness, HIV/AIDS, homelessness, domestic violence and other trauma, as well as lack of life skills in the United States. PROTOTYPES offers a range of programs throughout Southern California that serves more than 15,000 women and their families each year.
