Sealaska is a Native owned, nonprofit, corporation with more than 17,500 shareholders and among the largest private landowners in southeast Alaska. The company s principle investments are in forest products, the financial markets, plastics manufacturing, prototyping, construction aggregates, environmental services, bio-life sciences and international trade support. The company is a regional corporation formed under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971, a land claims settlement with Alaska Natives that include American Indians, Aleuts and Eskimos living in Alaska. Sealaska s assets are derived from the aboriginal lands of Tlingit and Haida Indians of Southeast Alaska. The company is headquartered in Juneau, Ala.
