Founded in 1967, Hope Community Resources is a private, nonprofit agency that serves individuals with disabilities in Alaska. It provides respite care, subsistence, mental health, supported employment, and medical and family services. The agency also offers a range of rehabilitative services, including in-home support, foster and shared care, and supported and assisted living. Hope Community Resources behavioral health services include prevention, crisis response, evaluation, and consultation and technical support. It also provides generalized training, tuberculosis screening, documentation, health assessment, medication review and discharge planning services. The agency additionally offers assistance with housekeeping, snowplowing and other chore areas. Hope Community Resources organizes career and job fairs. It operates Hope Industries, a subsidiary that provides additional revenue to Hope Community Resources. The agency provides support to individuals selected for services by the Division of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities. Hope Community Resources serves more than 1,000 people.
