The Washakie Museum and Cultural Center is an interactive museum with a rich collection of some of the best paleontological and archaeological finds the Big Horn Basin has to offer. Our historical exhibits include artifacts from the lives of the Indigenous peoples of the Big Horn Basin like a horn bow and an authentic Shoshone tipi as well as artifacts from and information about early white settlers, cattle and sheep ranching, and the challenges of developing the West. Have questions about the area? We are also the Washakie County Visitor Center and are happy to help! Our temporary installation, "WWI America," features a multi-room exhibit on the American experience during WWI and runs January 28-March 16. Guided Tours Available on request! Wheelchair accessible, Gift Shop, and bus parking available! Winter Hours: Sept. 16-May14, Tues.-Sat. 9:00-4:00 Summer Hours: May 15-Sept. 15, Mon.-Fri. 9:00-5:30, Sat. 9:00-5:00, Sun. 12:00-4:00
