UW-CTRI, also known as University of Wisconsin Center for Tobacco Research and Intervention, offers a wide range of tobacco-abuse prevention programs. Its research programs operate various plans to improve tobacco dependence treatment and help people quit tobacco usage. The center combines research in smoking cessation with practical applications. UW-CTRI also offers services to Wisconsin residents through its outreach program and its Wisconsin Tobacco Quit Line program that provides cessation assistance services to the communities in Wisconsin. It is located in Madison, Wis., and is a part of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. UW-CTRI was founded in 1992.
