Founded in 1945 and located in Madison, Wis., the University of Wisconsin Foundation is a nonprofit organization. It is the official fundraising and gift-receiving organization for the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The foundation receives gifts that are transferred to its annual fund to provide basic resources and development of educational opportunities for various students in schools, colleges and departments operated by the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Additionally, its annual fund provides financial aid to the university s students through scholarships and resources for technology education. The University of Wisconsin Foundation additionally supports special programs that include graduate fellowships and professorships in various academic disciplines and research projects. The University of Wisconsin-Madison enrolls more than 19,000 students who also receive financial aid for completing bachelor s, master s and doctoral degree programs and higher learning opportunities.
