History
Dr. Tashner has been a lifelong resident of Southwest Wisconsin. He is a 1985 graduate of Shullsburg High School. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where he graduated in 1989 with a degree in zoology. After graduation from UW-Platteville, he attended the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, receiving his degree in 1993. He worked alongside Dr. David Canny at Southwest Vision Clinic from 1993-1998 before founding the Tashner Vision Clinic in 1999. Dr. Tashner is married to Julie (Engelke) Tashner and has six children. He is an active member of St. Mary Church in Platteville, and is the Church Committee Chair for the Knights of Columbus. He serves his community as a Platteville Youth Sports Coach for baseball, football, and softball. Dr. Tashner is also a member of the American Optometric Association, the Lion's Club, the Jaycess, and the Platteville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Tashner Vision Clinic is a privately owned optometry practice, which was founded in 1999, under the expertise of Dr. Michael Tashner, OD. Over the years, the clinic has grown into a full service optometric practice and optical dispensary, and continues to research options for growing with and meeting the eye health care needs of our patients.
