The Inn (Bed & Breakfast) is open from April through the end of December! Take a step back in time and stay one or more nights in this 1800’s hand-hewn two-story log farmhouse. In 1989 we purchased a Wisconsin farm which had two houses on the property. The house we live in was built in 1903 and the original house was a two-story, hand-hewn-log structure. The Magnuson family built the original house in the 1800s when they emigrated from “Smoland Prairie,” a province in Sweden. The original house had been vacant for more than 50 years, and the foundation was crumbling and the house was in total disrepair. Renovating the house promised to be a challenge, adventure and most of all, a dream come true! After much hard work, many changes and setbacks — including the 2001 tornado that ripped through our farm — and lots and lots of support from loved ones, neighbors, and friends we finally opened Smoland Prairie Homestead Inn to the public.
