Founded in 1946, Diocese of Madison is a nongovernmental social services provider in the state of Wisconsin. It offers various services and programs for Catholic development throughout the state. It includes more than 10 counties in southwest and central Wisconsin, including Columbia, Dane, Grant, Green, Green Lake, Iowa, Jefferson, LaFayette, Marquette, Rock and Sauk. It includes various parishes, Catholic colleges, hospitals, and Catholic elementary and high schools. It operates the ministry of Catholic education that includes offices of religious education, family ministry, Catholic schools, justice and pastoral outreach, and the office of worship. The diocese is located in Madison, Wis., and has an area of more than 8,000 square miles.
