History
The Oconto Yacht Club was established on December 14, 1947. We are located on the Oconto River on the Western shore of Green Bay and are a Working Club. What's a working club you ask--well we have 2 work parties a year. One is in the Spring (April) and the other in the fall (October). We do our own docks, yard maintenance, club cleaning and boat lifting which helps to keep our dues down. Everyone brings a dish to pass for lunch and we have a great lunch after working outside. The members also maintain their own slips and green space. Many have flower gardens and most have picnic tables. We enjoy impromptu lunches and evening gatherings with friends.
Specialties
This is family orientated yacht club located on 9 shaded, park-like acres. We are pet and children friendly. The club is located on the Oconto River and has both river side and lagoon slips. We can accommodate vessels up to 40 ft in length, and 14 ft in width. This is a working club with two work parties per year. This is how we keep our pricing down. The members have many cook-outs together at the club and take several trips together during the season. Call us for an appointment, someone will be happy to show you around the club. Our slips have both potable water and electrical hook-ups. Every slip has a generous amount of green space with many shaded slips. The Clubhouse has a bar, kitchen, showers, and a nice tv area. The clubhouse is available for members to use for birthday parties, anniversaries, weddings, or any special occasions. We have a fire-pit on the riverside for evening socializing, and a large club grill for cook-outs. We look forward to meeting you.
