Monticello Fire Rescue has been proudly serving the Monticello Area since 1892, providing fire and first responder services to a primarily rural farming community. With an average of 110-140 calls per year, the department consists of over 32-36 members, more than half of whom are certified first responders or EMTs. Their commitment to improving response times is evident through their emphasis on clearly visible fire numbers and addresses.
Recently, Monticello Fire Rescue acquired a 1999 Pierce Dash Engine to replace their previous engine, thanks to a collaborative effort between the fire department and the Fire District. With a focus on cost-effectiveness, the department aims to get 12 more years of service out of this truck while allowing the Fire District time to set aside funds for future truck purchases. The department has invested a total of $124,000 into the new engine, including upgrades and enhancements from various vendors.
