After completing an anesthesiology residency, he went on to complete a Pain Management Fellowship at the world-renowned Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Womens Hospital. Mentoring future generations of doctors as an instructor at Harvard Medical School was a passion of his. He also was exposed to the most cutting-edge procedures, which he then brought with him to southeast Wisconsin.Throughout his career and leading up to his current position at Midwest Sports and Interventional Spine, Dr. Philip has published extensive research and completed advanced specialized training in an array of topics, including vertebral augmentation, lumbar decompression, spinal cord stimulation, the Vertiflex Procedures, MILD procedure, and other treatments for herniated discs and spinal stenosis.Professionally, before going into private practice, he was the Co-Director of the Spine Department at one of the largest healthcare systems in the Midwest. He helped create the Pain Management department at the hospital and collaborated with physicians from multiple specialties.Today, Dr. Philip uses his constantly expanding knowledge of human anatomy and pain management to treat patients at Midwest Sports and Interventional Spine for arthritis, spinal stenosis, herniated discs, complex regional pain syndrome, and various forms of musculoskeletal pain. He implements the latest techniques backed by current research, including epidural steroid injections, spinal cord stimulation, radiofrequency ablation, the MILD procedure, and the Vertiflex procedure. Dr Philip was also the first physician to bring the Intracept Procedure to Southeast Wisconsin. This procedure has helped patients avoid invasive back surgeries.Predominantly utilizing non-opioids therapies, Dr. Philips goal is to get people back to enjoying their activities of daily living. In fact, he was the first person to use the MILD procedure nearly 10 years ago in Wisconsin.
