The City of Jefferson is located in central Jefferson County Wisconsin, midway between Madison and Milwaukee, five miles South of I-94 on Highway 26. The population, according to the 2010 census, is 7, 865. The Rock and Crawfish rivers come together in the middle of town and the city has many amenities to offer travelers and businesses alike. Through the foresight of the City Council, this building will provide the space needed to continue the professional police services that the community has come to expect for many years to come. Our phone number is 674-7707 (911 for emergency's). Dispatch hours are: 7: 00am to 11: 00pm Monday thru Friday and 8: 00am to 4: 00pm on weekends. Other times we are dispatched thru Jefferson County Sheriff's Department. The department itself consists of Chief Gary Bleecker, Captain Michael Drew, Lieutenant Dale Lutz, 2 Detectives, 9 full time patrol officers, 5 part time officers, 2 full time dispatchers, 2 part time dispatchers, an Office Secretary and Typist.
