History
Fort Community Credit Union has been serving our members since our inception in 1940, originally as the Moe Light Employees Credit Union. And we've been building a bright and prosperous future since. In 1975 Our president, Ron Vogel was hired to run the credit union. After Thomas Industries acquired Moe Light, the name was changed to Thomas Credit Union. And, by 1978 assets reached one million dollars. In 1980, our name was updated to Fort Community to reflect our expanded field of membership, the credit union moved to 601 Madison Avenue and assets had reached five million dollars. By 1986 we had moved down the street to our present location, 800 Madison Avenue, and grown to 5,200 members with $20 million in assets. In 1993 we added a South Side branch to accommodate our growing membership base. To date we have branches on the Southside of Fort, in Jefferson and Whitewater, with more than 19,000 members and $230 million in assets.
